Integral Assessment

I feel that I am underdeveloped in fitness, nutrition, and self-regulation of my mind body and spirit. So I am going to focus on the Biological quadrant of integral development at this time since it involves fitness, nutrition, and self-regulation.  This assessment process is making me realize that I still need a long way to go to become integral and balanced. I want to attain greater health, happiness, and wholeness.  I enjoy cooking and eating healthy things, and I don’t know why I make bad decisions food often.  The Mexican food is so good where I live, it is my weakness.  I also want to get into the habit of going to the gym or working out at least three or four times a week; even if it means just going to a walk for an hour around my neighborhood.  I shouldn’t have excuses I live in Southern California where the weather is beautiful almost every day.  I signed up to do yoga last week, but I haven’t gone yet.  I have been very busy the last couple of weeks, but I need to figure out how to fit more exercise into my busy life because there is always going to be something comes up.  I can’t have anymore excuses.  I know that I want to get pregnant within the next couple of years and I want to be more healthy physically, mentally, and spiritually for that and for years to come, not only for myself but for my family.  It is time to get moving toward my goals.

  1. Hello Ashley,

It is definitely hard to find the time to work out and try to be a more fit person physically, mentally, and emotionally. I live in San Antonio, TX so I agree that Mexican food is a weakness and makes it hard to always eat healthy. I find a great way to workout is to buy the videos and do them at home. I feel as though it is so hard to find the time to go someplace and spend a good hour there working out, then have to drive back home or wherever. If you can buy five different DVDs that each work a different section (ex; cardio, abs, legs, arms, etc...) then just do one thirty minute DVD five times a week. That is only thirty minutes a day with weekends off. That is not much time at all and it truly makes a huge difference, plus you can do it at home. I think the first step to becoming a more healthier person is realizing that you truly want to be and you definitely already have a positive mindset in that area already. Everything takes time, but anything can be accomplished.

  2. Marissa,
I think I am going to try to do some videos at home also. They would be good to do for a workout before I go to work. Thanks for the response. I know it takes time and work, and I know I need to make these changes now.
